This panel presentation traces the trajectory of Wayang Peranakan in Singapore from its early beginnings to its present-day manifestations. It charts the form’s evolution—from the emergence of Peranakan minstrel groups and practices of female impersonation, to the development of intimate chamber works created for contemporary audiences.
