Preserving Heritage Through Literature
The Peranakan Association Singapore cordially invites you to the 4th edition of the biennial Baba Nyonya Literary Festival which showcases Peranakan-themed works by both Peranakans and non-Peranakans.
The Festival’s primary aim is to propagate Peranakan culture via literature and central themes across all editions of the Festival have been cultural identity and what defines the Peranakan voice.
At this Festival, we will delve deeply into Peranakan identity and culture. Panel discussions will explore themes such as illustrious Peranakans, the Peranakan Chinese home as a space where art and culture converge, material culture, memoirs, and cuisine.
For the first time in the Festival’s history, we will also be hosting book launches, providing authors with a platform to debut their works. Authors and moderators not just from Singapore but also from across Malaysia will be participating, promising a broad and enriching range of perspective.
The guest of honour for the first day will be Ms. Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, and the keynote speaker for the second day will be Mr. Kishore Mahbubani, Distinguished Fellow, Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore.

· We are delighted to partner with the Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum and Bendahari in Melaka, Malaysia, as well as Areca Books in Penang, Malaysia.
· For the first time in the Festival’s history, we are hosting book launches.
