We are pleased to announce that the 35th Baba Nyonya International Convention will be held during Loy Krathong, (Thai Light and Lantern Festival) in Phuket, Thailand in November 2024. Our sister association THAI PERANAKAN ASSOCIATION is the organiser of the convention.
In 2015, Phuket was designated as the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. Hence the theme of this year’s convention is “Longevity and Gastronomy” which will feature traditions around auspicious food to enhance vitality and wellbeing of the Peranakan community in Phuket. We will be joined by a medical expert who will share on the health, spiritual, and social benefits of these food and traditions.
