Some of us were “born to eat” but Chef Low Shih Erh was “born to cook”. Well, almost literally since she was already helping in her family’s Yellow Light Thai Food restaurant from the age of 6. She learnt to cook southern Thai dishes from her Thai-born mother who was a chef and a grandaunt who has the distinction of ever cooking for the Thai Royal Family.

Through the years, Chef Low has integrated her own creations and twists into the cuisine she grew up cooking without compromising its authenticity. Her expertise has taken her to food consulting and teaching assignments in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore and she is adept at whipping up a wide range of popular Southeast Asian fare.  Chef Low was Consulting Chef for a Penang cuisine restaurant and is currently an anchor chef teaching at The Kitchen Society.
