Dear Nyonyas and Babas,
Starting from this month, together with various members of the General Committee, I will update our members on the monthly happenings in the community in a short video clip titled Let’s Chakap Chakap with the President.
In this month’s video, I speak about my recent visit to our sister association in Phuket and marvel at the similarities between Thai Peranakan food and local Peranakan food that we are familiar with. Baba Ronney Tan talks about the recent event at the NUS Baba House where he co-hosted visitors from TEDx. Nyonya Theresa Tan touches on regional events, in particular, the Let’s Manik Together exhibition organised by Persatuan Peranakan Cina Melaka (PPCM) in Melaka, and an upcoming kamcheng exhibition, The Kam Cheng Cache at Seven Terraces hotel in Penang from 7 to 8 July. Nyonya Theresa adds that plans are well underway for THE PERANAKAN magazine to go digital sometime later this year.
