THE PERANAKANTPAS’ AGM on 21 June 2026 saw the election of the new General Committee for the 2026–28 term.

It was a sweltering Sunday afternoon, yet the ambience was convivial at TPAS’ AGM held at the Ixora Room of the Peranakan Museum at Armenian Street. With about 30 members in attendance, the meeting was postponed to a 3pm starting time in lieu of attaining quorum.
TPAS President Genevieve Peggy Jeffs then called upon various Committee members to share information on the upcoming activities for the second half of 2026. These include the Literary Festival on 25–26 July, the TPAS fundraising gala, Tok Panjang Grandeur, on 5 September; a Makan Tour with Tony Boey to Johor on 10 Sep; and the Baba Nyonya International Convention in Penang in November.
At 3pm, the meeting officially commenced. Babas Ryan Su and Nicholas Chee volunteered and served as Scrutineers for the meeting, with Nyonya Charmaine Neo on hosting duty. The President’s Report was presented, along with TPAS’ financial report which noted a healthy statement of account for the last year. The meeting also saw the passing of the minutes of the 2025 AGM, the election of Baba Emeric Lau as Honorary Auditor for 2026, and the election of the General Committee members for the 2026–28 term. With no further business at hand, the meeting came to a smooth close around 3:30pm.
All present proceeded to enjoy a generous teatime spread catered by Baba Clarence Ling of AllSpice Institute. TPAS wishes to express gratitude to the Peranakan Museum for providing the venue.Â
