Sorry about the accidental mass post!

If you're interested in joining as a member, please fill in the membership form and post it back to us with a cheque of SGD103.00 payable to "The Peranakan Association".

Please include 2 recent pass port sized photographs of yourself and mail to:

    The Hon. Secretary,

    Babawanabe,

To be a member, you do not need anyone to nominate you.  So no worries,  I too also a member for 3 years now.  Just $103 once-off payment.  Only thing different is last night no need for photos... now need only la.

    Rgds

    Hi,
wondering what happens after being Peranakan Association member?

will there be activities to understand more about the culture?

    Hi Michelle,

After joining the PA as a member, first benefit is you would be posted a quarterly peranakan magazine to inform you new information about peranakan culture you need to know.

Writers like Dr Lye, Peter Lee, Noreen Chan etc would contribute articles often to share about their findings about this unique culture.

The peranakan association would organise annual D&D and inform any other peranakan activities to their members.  The PA also hosts the Peranakan Festival which usually PA would get to host once in 3 or 4 years (I guess... now that Phuket PA is in the line).

    Cheers

    Jyun

    Dear Members Wannabe

I want to be a member too so I sent 2 passport photos with a cheque of $103 payable to Peranakan Association. I mailed the completed form with the photos and the cheque on 6 Sep 2009 to:
    The Hon. Secretary,
    The Peranakan Association,
    Raffles City P.O.Box 1640,
    Singapore 911755.

Somehow I did not receive any acknowledgement till today 12 Dec 2009. The last time I spoke to a lady from the Peranakan Association she said I have to go to her shop at Goldhill and that I am not the only one who has given such a feedback. Why does the Association advise members wannabe to mail to a post box where the mails would not reach and all the personal details of the sender goes missing. This is poor service rendered by the Association.
