Been to Penang a few times but did not much of peranankan culture there except knowing that there is a peranakan museum. Is there a place in Penang where the perankan community live? Just like Joo Chiat in Singapore? Also, why the Penang peranakan speak Hokkien instead of the baba malay?
I noticed what you had mentioned too. Penang Babas speak in their hokkien but they used many verbs and nouns in malay instead. While the Babas in melaka speak more malay and used alot of hokkien terms instead.
