Hi JYeo, how are you? Hope you also find this website very useful for your research into the history of the Peranakans. I am a Baba, are you by any chance or a Nonya?

I am overseas far far away, but drop in every now and then to see whats going on here. I will be heading to Singapore in a few day's time, i.e. Dec 20 onwards till Jan 6, 2010. Just a back to the past trip, binge eating of hawker foods and all the other good stuff over there.

Welcome from all of us here.

    Cheers.

    Hey hi Hocky!

Thank you for your email!  I am well. thanks.  Sorry for late reply as I didn't go into this site for a long time.  How's your trip to SG?  Ah, yes, food, glorious food!!  Yes, I am a nonya but am not too much in touch with the peranakans' culture as my mum is not a nonya.  I want to research my roots but of course don't know where to start.  My dad and all his siblings have passed away.  My aunt last one to go last Feb.  I know my dad's family lived in Geylang before moving to Queenstown in the 60s.  I am also overseas far far away.  You are probably in US.  I am living in Vancouver, Canada.
    cheers
